    Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin is set up to provide workers’ education and training , as well as research into labour issues to promote decent work life and industrial harmony towards national economic growth and development

    MINILS is a specialized polytechnic, as it is classified among the monotechnics by both JAMB and NBTE (National Board for Technical Education) which are the two regulatory bodies established to oversee polytechnics in the country.

    : The National Diploma from the Institute is acceptable for Direct Entries into the following University degree courses- a) Industrial Relations b) Personnel Management/Human Resources Management c) Business Administration d) Sociology.

    The Institute has affiliations with major Institutions around the world involved with Labour Studies.
    a) We have affiliation with the International Training Center of the International Labour Organization (ITC ILO) based in Turin Italy; Ruskin College, Oxford, UK; Global Labour University, Germany. These are degree awarding Labour Institutions that can offer scholarship to deserving students from the Institute.
    b) We are working on an affiliation with the University of Ilorin to commence a degree programme in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations so that our students can continue with their studies here in the Institute.
    c) We are affiliating with professional bodies such as OSHA so that our students can become professional Health and Safety practitioners as well as Workers Representations in the labour movement

    Our students can be employed as trade unions staff, assistants in Human Resources Management Departments of both public and private sector organizations as well as organizers and mobilizers for NGOs, political parties and CBOs.

    The Students can be accommodated within the Institute premises at a modest fee. However, the Olunlade community in which MINILS is situated is well developed so that students can find reasonable accommodation facilities to inhabit. Transportations facilities in Ilorin is cheap and efficient so that students who may operate from afar can also come.
