INTRODUCTION
The Academic programmes offered by the Institute are full-time, part-time and distance learning for the National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, National Diploma in Entrepreneurial Studies and National Diploma in Labour Law and Employment Regulations, Advanced Certificate in Industrial and Labour Relations , Professional Examinations in Industrial and Labour Relations covering various stages and the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Relations, and Personnel Management with NUC accreditation. The academic programmes which are coordinated by the Academic and Distance Learning Programmes Department are the hub around which MINILS engenders best of class labour educational experiences for students, youths, trade unionists, selfemployed people,, government officials and Human Resource Practitioners.
PROGRAMMES
The Academic programmes offered by the Institute are as follows:
a. B.Sc Degree Programme in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (Affiliation with the University of Ilorin, Ilorin) on full time basis.
b. National Diploma in Industrial and Labour Relations (fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)).
The professional programmes offered by the Institute includes:
a. Professional Certicate in Industrial and Labour Relations (PCILR), which the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation has acknowledged for purposes of proficiency and professionalism in Industrial and Employment Relations in the country. This entails four (4) levels, of professional attainments including graduate certificate, Associate of the National Labour Institute (anli), Member of the National Labour Institute (mnli) and Fellow of the National Labour Institute (fnli). The process also incorporate annual, mandatory professional continuing educational progromme.
b. Advanced Certificate in Industrial and Labour Relations (ACILR) is designed to equip Lawyers, labour Jurists, trade unionists, personnel/HR managers, administrators in public and private sector organizations and policy makers with requisite knowledge and understanding of Industrial Relations and allied subject matters for their day-to-day work.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS/MODES OF DELIVERY
a. Bachelor of Science Programme:
At least five (5) O’level credits including English Language, Mathematics and Economics obtained in not more than 2 sittings; and sat for UTME and scored not less than the marks prescribed for admission by JAMB for the year admission is sought. Also Direct Entry slots is available for holders of requisite qualication prescribed by JAMB. The mode of study is full-time.
b. National Diploma(ND) Programme:
Candidates for the National Diploma Programme must possess the SSCE / GCE conducted by WAEC, NECO or NABTEB with at least ve(5) subjects at credit level including English Language and Mathematics and obtained in not more than two (2) sittings. Candidates are to obtain the minimum UTME scores for admission. However opportunities exist for trade union ofcials and workers who did not sit for UTME to be admitted into the National Diploma programme. CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE ND FORM.
c. Advanced Certificate in Industrial and Labour Relations (Executive Programme):
(i) 3 Months (with contact sessions) or 4 months (online mode).
(ii) University Degrees with little or no knowledge of Industrial/Labour Relations is required.
