The Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) has taken a significant step toward enhancing its infrastructure following a strategic visit by the Kwara State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola.
The visit underscored the Institute’s commitment to improving its physical environment through collaboration, with discussions centered on forging a partnership that will support the much-needed renewal of its facilities. This initiative is aimed at strengthening MINILS’ capacity to deliver on its core mandate of labour education and research.

Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner reaffirmed the Kwara State Government’s readiness to support critical institutions through impactful and sustainable development initiatives.
Dr. Ogunsola was received by the Director-General, Comrade Issa Aremu, and subsequently taken on a guided tour of the Institute’s facilities. The inspection offered a clear picture of critical areas requiring urgent attention and reinforced the need for immediate intervention.
The engagement concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, with both parties expressing strong optimism about the prospects of the partnership. The anticipated collaboration is expected to drive a comprehensive upgrade of the Institute’s infrastructure and position MINILS to more effectively fulfill its national mandate.
